Tranexamic acid is a workhorse ingredient that blocks the chemical signals that cause hyperpigmentation with an added benefit of intercepting the pathways that trigger the pigment cells, acting as a preventative shield. A dual benefit to tranexamic acid is that it halts the skin's pigmentation process, while also lightening exisiting pigment over time.
